Tracy brings more than 25 years of experience to the mental health and substance use field. As founder and general manager of Karvinen Counseling Services, she oversees daily operations and supports the growth of the practice and the clinicians within it.
Over her career, Tracy has worked in many of the settings the field has to offer — inpatient and outpatient treatment, jails, hospitals, shelters, schools, and community-based services — from direct client care to management to national training and research projects. That range gives her a rare, ground-level understanding of the many paths people take toward recovery and healing.
She sees therapy as a collaboration: clients set the direction, and she walks alongside them with honesty and encouragement, drawing on deep clinical experience and evidence-based interventions. Tracy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and a Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CODP-II).
